A remote, uninhabited, but beautiful fjord in the eastern part of Iceland. In the beginning of the 20th century the fjord counted 10 farms, but one by one they got abandoned and 30 years ago the last inhabitants left the fjord. It is a paradise for hikers. The only way to visit the fjord by car is with a 4-wheel drive, over a rough, winding mountain road.View on mountaintop 'Gunnhildur' according to 'Vegahandbókin'.The mountainrange is called 'Brimnesfjall' or 'Dagmálafjall' according to different sources.
